It’s been an incredible season and we are looking forward to Mountain Season starting up again in September in hopes of sending some riders to Nationals this year!
Classes start next week which means road season is two weeks away! Our first race is down at Cal Poly! Be sure to join us for our first team meeting of the semester Thursday, Jan. 31 to find out more or check us out at our booth in the library quad the first two weeks of class!
Good luck to everyone heading off to Reno this weekend! Stay tuned for results from our awesome 9 team mates headed to compete in Cross Country, Short Track, Down Hill and Duel Slalom events with colleges from across California and Northern Nevada.
Sac State sent four team members down to Cal Poly’s famous mountain bike race weekend in Parkfield, California. Upon arriving on friday we took a lap around the cross country course to see how things would fair on Saturday for the first race. While the track was a mixture of loose sand and dirt the killer two climbs were going to be the biggest challenges.
After a lovely wake up call to “Call Me Maybe” at 6pm, thanks to Cal Poly’s P.A. system, we kitted up and hit the dirt. The temperature rose quickly as we all finished the race and moved on to the next event Duel Slalom, with Danny taking an impressive 4th place in the gravity event.
Sunday concluded the weekend with short track, only taking a few casualities and Down Hill which is always a sight to see. It was a great welcome back to bike racing and we are excited for the rest of the season to see how Sac State continues to do! Be sure to check out the photos in the media section from the weekend!
